No sleep and no rum make Mama...something something.

I think my family has reverted to survival mode. The lack of sleep is at an all-time high (due to: delightful guests who make us not want to go to bed; the final book in the Twilight series; a baby who keeps sleep-crawling and waking every hour; a husband who is still in denial about the early hours we keep and why that requires an early bed time) and no one is on top of their game. Every day this week has felt like we're sprinting from the moment we get up until we get back to bed. It feels like no one is able to waste any energy on idle chit chat, or any superfluous motion. Hopefully a really quiet weekend wherein I rarely leave the couch will have me feeling a little more chipper.

Someday, I will have a job that does not require a 40-minute each way commute. Someday I will learn to discipline myself and take care of myself in a way that allows me to actually feel good more often than not.

It's hard to have a positive outlook when you're tired all the time. Poor Xtian must feel like absolute ass. He's been on night-duty for the last 2.5 weeks. And the kid still won't sleep. We've regrouped and come up with a few new ideas though. We'll see how that goes down.

Sorry, I'm really not all that down or anything. Mostly we're having fun, it's just a really tiring stretch, and I forget how much I use our do-nothing weekends to recharge. Get a few break-neck-busy weekends in a row and I feel barely capable of dressing myself. Wheee!

Hope everyone else is just peachy keen.
(Are we all afraid to comment now? What's the deal!?)

With a Monday to Friday job, and a toddler in the mix, and me who STILL doesn't remember every day how much of a JERK I am if I don't go to bed at a decent hour...I LIVE for the weekends!

Hope you get to recharge!

it's not that I'm afraid to comment, just that we've been so busy too...haven't had time to read blogs.
